Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Igor Churbakov, operating Reef ("we", "us"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Reef macOS application and related cloud services (the "Service"). We are located at Kosti Palama 41, Limassol 4001, Cyprus.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, we receive basic profile information from your identity provider (such as Google or GitHub): your name, email address, and profile picture. We use it to create and operate your account.
• Workspace content. Content you create or connect in Reef — such as tasks, boards, notes, and session metadata — is stored to provide the Service.
• Google Calendar data (optional). If you connect Google Calendar, Reef reads upcoming events (titles, times, attendees) on your device to detect meetings and pre-fill participant names. Calendar data is processed locally on your Mac and is not sold or shared with third parties.
• Meeting audio and transcripts (optional). If you enable meeting features, audio is captured and processed on your device. Transcripts and summaries are stored only where you choose — locally, or synced to your workspace.
• Diagnostics. We may collect limited technical diagnostics (app version, error reports) to keep the Service reliable.

How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train machine-learning models.

Google user data

Reef's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• Google user data is used only to provide user-facing features described above.
• We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide these features, comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice.
• We do not use Google user data for advertising.
• Humans do not read this data unless you give explicit consent, it is necessary for security or legal reasons, or it is aggregated and anonymized.

Data sharing

We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting and database services) that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@goreef.ai; we will delete it within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, and access controls that restrict data access to authorized systems.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact support@goreef.ai.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised effective date.
